10 years of RTI Act in Meghalaya : Countdown at Khyndailad

Right to Information Act was passed by Parliament on 15 June 2005 and came fully into force on 12 October 2005. Act had given the government 120 days to put in place systems to allow the citizens to access information. Meghalaya Right to Information Movement (MRTIM) put up a countdown signboard in the tourist taxi stand at Khyndailad, Shillong to remind the government of its responsibility as well as to publicise the RTI Act.
