This weekend we have an old short story, Sweetest of All by Frank Krishner. A remarkably sweet tale of love and loss in Shillong in the eighties. Like all great love stories, tale transcends barriers, in this case of community, religion and sexualty.
Shillong has always been a town of disputations and subversions. TARIK, the band are the newest incarnations of that old Shillong urge – up yours. When the police and moralisers decided to cleanse the town of young lovers publically displaying their affections, MORAL POLICE was TARIK’s answer.
